Our client is an independently owned design and branding firm that represents a great roster of consumer brands and is known for its innovative work across diverse mediums- especially packaging. We are helping them to identify a Strategy Director, this is a newly created role in the company. They are looking for a candidate to lead high-profile client engagements and strategic growth initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Define / refine product offerings and best practices
- Work with strategy team members and cross functional teams to deliver best in class work to our clients
- Work with biz dev on target outreach and client relationship building
- Work with executive leadership to identify and develop other strategic growth opportunities for the agency
- Build positive relationships with existing and new clients
- Serve as the engagement lead and strategic “go-to” on key company accounts
- Manage multiple projects on an ongoing basis
- Develop new biz / pitch related content and attend new biz presentations
- Create thought leadership content in strategic areas of focus (ex. healthcare, retail brand innovation) to drive inbound inquiry
- Develop and manage timelines and budgets
- Train and develop others in company process and thinking
- Lead major client initiatives and engagements – own, manage and present client-ready content to C-suite audiences
- Develop core strategic insights, hypothesis, solutions and POVs for client business and brand challenges
- Speak fluently to all core company strategy product offerings (brand meaning, brand positioning, visual strategy, verbal identity, brand architecture, innovation)
- Lead and direct junior team members on high profile client engagements
- Effectively drive projects, including planning and execution
- Ability to develop client-ready thinking and presentations
- Strong capability to deliver presentations to C level clients
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Strong ability to communicate strategic direction to creative teams
- Ability to manage multiple projects
- Ability to develop and manage timelines and budgets
- Strong ability to train others in company process and thinking
Requirements:
- B.A. Degree, preferably in Marketing, Advertising, Journalism, Design or Psychology. MBA a plus
- 7-10 years experience in a strategy role in a design or branding firm
- Demonstrated leadership and growth capabilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office. Photoshop, Illustrator and digital video knowledge a plus
- Able to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
