Senior Account Supervisor – Public Relations Lifestyle and Fashion Agency

Our client is a full service public relations, social media, content and digital communications agency specializing in fashion, lifestyle and travel brands. Due to continued company growth, the agency is currently seeking a Senior Account Supervisor to join their lifestyle team in their New York office. Working in tandem with both the internal PR and social media teams, this role will drive results as well as manage creative and innovative collaborations across the agency’s portfolio of brands. Leveraging the agency’s team of creative thinkers this candidate will support their fashion and footwear roster, as well as develop and maintain strong relationships with the media, influencers and stylists. Grounded in publicity, this position requires a strong eye for identifying trends, relevant partnerships, event execution, creative media placement and content development. Additionally, this position also requires the flexibility to travel in the U.S. and Canada to attend some events on the agency’s behalf.


  • Manage daily activities for several fashion accounts
  • Maintain strong relationships with top tier fashion media, celebrity stylists and industry contacts, leveraging those relationships to support client needs
  • Serve as the day-to-day resource for media contacts and oversees development of client communications
  • Manage team of 3-4 publicity and digital team members and communicates status updates with senior leaders
  • Manage development and implementation of all strategic plan initiatives under minimal supervision
  • Understand and prioritizes the objectives of each client; anticipates needs in advance
  • Contribute 75 percent of time to media and stylist/influencer relations
  • Write client collateral, which includes but is not limited to: news releases, media alerts, photo captions, media pitches, bios and fact sheets
  • Utilize fashion and lifestyle media relationships to secure consistent and quality media placements on client’s behalf, and oversees national business, broadcast and tier one media
  • Develop and maintains solid relationships with journalists, bloggers and social media influencers
  • Understand social media and identifies ways to integrate social networking into other communications strategies
  • Stay up-to-date on social media trends to provide recommendations to client about how social media channels can best be used to pitch, support client goals or leverage exposure
  • Prepare meeting agendas, notes and reports
  • Manage account budgets, resources and deadlines
  • Manage client relations through meetings, conference calls, events and general contact
  • Plan, implement and manage client media tours and local market visits, as needed
  • Manage client planning, as needed
  • Perform in-depth research and analysis of clients (audits)
  • Stay up to date with current industry news and trends


  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years of PR agency experience working with fashion brands
  • Proven ability to secure high quality fashion, lifestyle and design media coverage
  • Strong understanding of local media, stylists and influencers in the New York market
  • Actively participate in the fashion culture and has a native understanding of the influences and trends that drive the industry
  • Solid strategic writing skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficient in AP Style
  • Hold established national and trade lifestyle media relationships, as well as blogger and business media relationships – and have the skills to develop new relationships using traditional and digital tools
  • Proven experience planning high-profile events for lifestyle clients
  • Previous experience coordinating media tours and/or desk side tours
  • Possess excellent writing skills, with a strong attention to detail
  • Detail and results-oriented with the ability to be creative while maintaining precision
  • Use social media tools regularly and has experience integrating social media into public relations programs
  • Proficiency using Cision/Cisionpoint, Lexis Nexis, news wires and MS applications
  • Strong connections with fashion editors, stylist influencers, industry-appropriate bloggers and social media influencers
  • Passion for the lifestyle and fashion industries and the ability to spot trends
