Our client owns several well-known, contemporary fashion brands and is currently seeking a PR Director for several of their men’s accounts. The position is the key hub of all public relation activities for the men’s brands. The PR Director drives the development and strategy of a brand, by acting as the source of media campaign ideas and coordinating marketing and merchandising activities. The company generally uses young and current celebrities in all of their advertising, so the internal culture would suit someone who is an avid reader of US Weekly and People Magazine and keeps up with celebrity and pop culture.
Responsibilities:
- Work with senior level editors
- Conceptualize and develop “buzz” for brands
- Relationship upkeep and building with key editors, producers, bloggers, etc
- Work on customized strategies and plans
- Attend campaign photo shoots
- Social media – work with marketing and social media teams to ensure social media is maximized for brands and in alignment with PR initiatives
- Oversight and editing of all written material for press and compilation of press lists
- Drafting of press releases and materials
- Liaising with marketing / brand managers on initiatives, etc.
- Seasonal presentations, fashion shows, special events and market appointments
- Oversight of editorial – giving benchmarks and guidelines to the Managers and Coordinators to meet on an ongoing basis
- Create editorial calendar/pitch grid
- Create relationships with national TV show producers/wardrobe to secure product placement
- Pitch feature items in long/short lead media as well as online
- Support new product launches
- Managing budgets per brand
- Forming and maintaining celebrity relationships
Requirements:
- 7+ years of PR experience, preferably on the agency side managing multiple Men’s/Youth/Lifestyle brands
- Results oriented and creative; possess strong interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills
- Entrepreneurial personality, self-starter, thinks and acts like an owner
- In-depth understanding of industry trends, innovative, relevant ideas
- Clear communicator with the ability to present and support a point of view, team player
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Some foreign and domestic travel may be required
