Our client is one of the fastest growing e-commerce companies and their apps have been downloaded by over 2 million customers worldwide. Additionally, their mobile websites get over 100,000 visitors per day. Given their continued growth and success, the company is currently seeking a tenacious PR and Communications Director who will have a strong focus on HR and work to spearhead the brands regional, national and global initiatives. In addition to leading and driving all HR related internal communications, this role will be instrumental in developing the company’s PR strategy by networking and building relationships with industry leading media and bloggers. He or she will work to drive brand recognition externally as well as increase enthusiasm for current and potential employees and therefore this is an exceptional opportunity for an ambitious PR professional who is looking to work within a growing and innovative travel company.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the internal social media team and lead a global team of ‘HR communicators’ to drive consistent global messaging around the HR calendar, training, performance management, learning, new hire announcements, hot topics, diversity and employee satisfaction updates
- Manage the execution of PR programs on new technology and process launches, events and major HR and employee milestones
- Involvement with HR recruitment efforts, including drafting of materials used for career fairs and university relations
- Develop policies and procedures related to public information programs, branding for HR and other employee branded initiatives
- Spearhead research, planning and development of HR driven strategic media relations programs including corporate image, media kits and press releases
- Create and maintain strong relationships with industry trade media, travel bloggers, and top-tier journalists
- Identify and drive external award and recognition programs and relationships in the areas of HR, Employment Branding, and Best Places to Work
- Identify and drive external speaking, networking and promotional events to build brand awareness and connect with premier talent
- Create and lead the company’s global Culture Committee to bring together various employee perspectives on internal and external perceptions and issues
- Drive the design and development of the company’s employment page and related social media employment outlets
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 8 years of experience within Public Relations and/or Corporate Communications
- Startup, travel and/or technology industry experience preferred in successful e-commerce or relevant B to C organizations
- Pre-existing relationships with travel specific media outlets, bloggers, HR and employee branding networks
- Understanding of technology trends in the evolving PR landscape
- Ability to deal with ambiguity and change within a fast paced environment
- Exceptional writing and communication skills with the ability to collaborate with a global network of HR professionals to drive a consistent brand message and employee brand
- Ability to create and own an end-to-end human resources communication and branding agenda and timeline that is both internally and externally focused
- Courage to influence at all levels and develop a following by demonstrating the power of HR and employer branding communications that are positive, progressive and business relevant, putting the company name on the map and encouraging premier talent to join the company
- Ability to thrive in a growing and entrepreneurial environment and be vocal with regards to idea generation
