We are currently working with an independently owned design firm with offices in New York and London that offers a distinctive viewpoint and an open and collaborative culture. They are actively seeking a Mid-Weight Designer to join their team in New York City. The ideal candidate will have strong experience within packaging and branding design, supported by an exceptionally high standard of conceptual thinking. Impressive design and typography skills are a must, as is the ability to deliver work with strong execution. To make this happen, speed and an in depth knowledge of all the usual design applications is a prerequisite. This is an excellent opportunity to work within one of the top teams within the industry on world renowned, exciting CPG brands ranging from global players through to boutique clients.
Responsibilities:
- Designing independently or as part of a team, depending on each project
- Supplying a high percentage of creative concepts for each presentation
- Inputting strongly to each design critique and ensuring your voice is heard
- Presenting your designs with conviction, sometimes to clients with senior team support
- Develop innovative ways to visualize design concepts and execute design solutions for clients
- Assist in all phases of design from conception to implementation to final production
- Helping to create mood-boards, audits and presentation stimulus when required
- Acting as a creative catalyst on each project, inspiring juniors and impressing seniors
- Attempting to have your design chosen every time and helping to implement the winning design thereafter

Requirements:
- Around 3-5 years of experience, with an emphasis on branding and CPG; ideal candidate must have a considerable amount of packaging work experience
- Must understand brand strategy and have the ability to speak to the design work and the inspiration behind it
- Must be conceptual and executional and possess an entrepreneurial spirit
- Must have exceptional writing, verbal and presentation skills
