The agency works across multiple categories including health and wellness, luxury real estate, lifestyle, consumer brands, travel and entertainment. The agency is currently seeking a Media Department Specialist to develop and implement the company’s core communication strategy and objectives through a broad range of media relations channels with a proactive, results driven attitude. This is a great opportunity for someone who is a self-starter and possesses an entrepreneurial mindset.


  • Secure coverage across all communication platforms including print, broadcast and online media on behalf of our clients
  • Phone work is an integral part of the role
  • Garner consistent media attention
  • Utilize current relationships with the media and develop new relationships to generate high level impactful media placements
  • Cultivate and maintain strong media relationships
  • Manage media database for staff use
  • Provide media relations counsel to account team member and clients
  • Research new tools and techniques important to conducting effective media outreach
  • Work closely with senior account executives to coordinate information gathering, response and planning on high profile issues and agency events
  • Strategize and execute media relations portion of programs with very limited supervision
  • Conduct effective media outreach and deploy as appropriate


  • 4+ years’ experience as a generalist at a NY agency
  • Enjoys pitching
  • Proven ability to secure high-profile coverage with long lead publications as well as broadcast media
  • Strong computer skills (i.e Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Creative problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong media contacts and excellent writing skills
  • Proven ability to create media plans from concept and follow through to placement
  • B.S/B.A in public relations, marketing, business communications or related field preferred
