Our client is a New York City based advertising agency with a range of lifestyle accounts. We are helping them identify a Head of Account Management who will be responsible for mentoring, guiding shaping the account management department. The agency is seeking an individual who is open and direct and who will bring strong emotional intelligence to the role.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the account management team providing mentoring, career planning across the department
  • Will be an advocate for talent, investing in team members always driving talent retention
  • Handling resources across client business, assessing project needs and constraints and assigning resources accordingly
  • Set the highest standards of strategic insight and leadership amongst the group and the agency
  • Identifying appropriate resources for new business pitches
  • Act as department head liaison across the agency, working closely with all departments
  • Will develop efficient systems to ensure maximum productivity and quality of product
  • Driving standards and ambition whilst always safe guarding an inclusive, collaborative environment
  • Will inform and be actively involved in account handling recruitment
  • Must be able to embrace the individual needs of each account whilst looking to put in place structure and process with a view to continually strengthening best practice
  • In partnership with the CEO and CFO manage contract negotiation
  • Will lead a key account and be client facing on at least one brand
  • Manage day to day interaction and taking the account lead for strategy and creative across at least one specific account
  • Will support other account leads as and when necessary with client- facing interaction
  • Will take the brand lead on new business pitches when required

  • Must be committed to forming deep and long term relationships both with clients and within the agency with the sensibility to know when to step in and when to stand back
  • Nurturing – committed to helping coach and mentor members of the account handling team
  • Must be respectful of individual account needs and styles whilst looking to develop best practice, structure and beneficial processes across account handling
  • Fashion and/or beauty experience or an appreciation and understanding of the aesthetic involved in these categories is essential
  • Proven strategic experience working in partnership with brands at a senior client level
  • A firm commitment to the long term, to building relationships that last and retaining talent with a hunger for success
  • Intolerant of politics or any practice or attitude which stands in the way of delivering the best work for clients
  • Brings thoughtfulness to and supports ambitions of all staff at all levels across the company; an insightful and emotionally intelligent individual
  • Proven financial negotiation skills
