Our client is an independently owned creative agency and we are helping them to identify a Group Planning Director. The agency is seeking a seasoned, talented and ambitious Group Planning Director to work across multiple accounts, new business development and mentor and lead their team of junior and senior planners. This is a great opportunity for a creative problem-solver to take on a senior leadership role and provide leadership and vision in a creative environment.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with the CEO and leadership team to further the mission of creating cultural movements that enable brands to make a difference in the world
- Lead and grow a team of strategists and manage the strategic needs for the overall agency
- Partner with practice leads to articulate brand needs, and develop appropriate strategy processes / deliverables for project proposals
- Contribute to ongoing refinement of the agency’s strategic offering, marketing approach, and communications
- In conjunction with leadership team, play a key role in pitch development and presentations
- In addition to the above you will also have day-to-day responsibilities on marquee clients and as such be equally comfortable leading C-Suite clients and also rolling up your sleeves and getting “scrappy”
- Identify new/innovative resources and potential client service solutions in order to expand client relationships and address branding needs and challenges
Requirements:
- Be collaborative, welcoming and warm – people need to feel they can ask for your help and actively involve you in discussions with clients and amongst the team
- Experience working with financial brands is a benefit, however experience working across a wide range of clients is also a plus
- Be highly articulate, with the ability to clearly express complex ideas
- Must be quick thinking and smart, able to debate complex issues with clients at length and under pressure
- Act with a natural authority and conduct working relationships in a professional way
- Be a natural optimistic – positivity is infectious and attractive to both colleagues and clients
- Act in an ‘open’ way – responding openly to client questions, seeking information from other parties and sharing the knowledge you have
- A ‘can do’ attitude come naturally to you
- Possess an inquisitive mind and good self-awareness
- Must have the ability to use initiative and the confidence to act on it
- Must be organized, able to organize and able to prioritize
- Must be assertive and able to shout when problems are looming
- A minimum of 12-15 years of account planning/strategy experience in an integrated advertising agency is required
