Executive Creative Director – Design, Branding and Innovation Studio

Our client is a global leader in the design, branding and strategy space and we are helping to identify an Executive Creative Director for their San Francisco office. He or she will be responsible for establishing and infusing the creative vision and direction for the studio. The Creative Director will provide inspirational leadership by inspiring the team to produce great work that drives their clients business. This person should be a natural master new business presenter who will partner with the new business and senior leadership team, and be an effective, compelling champion of the brand globally.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for overall creative excellence, including problem solving, creative strategy, quality of creative craft, innovation within creative team and impact of creative product
  • Provide leadership and direction of the creative process; being the final arbiter of creative excellence for the design community
  • Understanding and awareness of the local aesthetic and culture when solving client challenges
  • Master story-teller with the ability to command a room and build strong client relationships
  • Ensure all correspondence, materials, presentations and proposals presented to prospective and existing clients are of the highest quality and always relevant to the client’s issues
  • Establish an inspirational creative vision and high standards for the business
  • Understand and is able to manage the delivery and implementation of brand strategy
  • Effectively partner with account and strategy teams to merge creative ideas with strategic thinking
  • Possess the ability to inspire great design internally, and successfully pitch this to clients
  • Ability to continually drive growth and new business and to translate from idea to action and drive teams collaboratively to successful execution
  • Motivate and reward talent with strong collaboration, passion and leadership skills
  • Identify opportunities for Creative Directors and Design Directors’ creative growth and provide ongoing performance evaluations addressing creative quality, client development and profitability, collaboration with other creative leads, and staff development

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of broad creative and management experience in a design, branding, strategy or other creative environment
  • Expertise in digital is a must
  • Experience leading cross-discipline teams and leaders is required
  • Global sophistication and the ability to adapt to different cultures is essential
  • Acknowledged thought-leader with award-winning creative achievement is desired
