Our client, a new prestige skincare company, is seeking an experienced public relations professional at the Director level. He or she will be responsible for internal and external communications, including PR strategy, media relations, trade marketing, investor relations and agency management. This individual will play a key role in a fast growing, entrepreneurial environment that requires action and a desire to shake up an established industry dominated by corporate giants. The position of Director of Public Relations will be reporting directly to the CMO and will be working with the cross-functional team in order to successfully develop and implement a comprehensive media relations program. Great growth potential exists for the resourceful, entrepreneurial and innovative candidate.

The brand has a powerful and proven line of skincare products that contain a proprietary and patented active ingredient. Within a short period, the brand has established itself as an award-winning innovator and has received acclaim from numerous beauty media outlets. Additionally, they have recently signed an A list celebrity spokesperson to be the face of their brand.
Responsibilities:
- Strategy: develop and implement comprehensive stakeholder communications and media relations program that is linked to the brand and company objectives
- Work with cross-functional team to develop and execute breakthrough programs and ideas
- Responsible for ideating and implementing initiatives across: communications plans, press releases, strategic partnership activities and investor relations
- Manage implementation of brand communications plan and ensure execution excellence
- Utilize strong relationship skills to cultivate and manage media, industry decision-makers, and trade relationships on behalf of the Company to activate speaking engagements, identify thought leadership opportunities, and ensure brand role and message comes through clearly to targeted stakeholders
- Execute communication strategy across multiple social media platforms (Facebook, Google+, Twitter, Instagram, Vimeo, Blogs, etc.)
- Keep abreast of consumer and industry insights to develop and execute opportunistic execution and communications programming to help tell the brand story
- Help develop marketing strategy: ability to internalize and utilize brand strategy to shape supportive communications
- Provide a complete communications calendar to ensure team has proper time to develop and execute communications plans with excellence
- Develop innovative and integrated marketing communications across a variety of stakeholder touch points
- Champion the brand positioning and brand voice, to make sure our brand experience is all coming from the same place
- Develop and manage comprehensive internal communications plan to drive key company initiatives
Requirements:
- 10+ years of communications experience (agency and/or in-house)
- College degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism (or related field of study)
- Previous experience in a fast growing, entrepreneurial environment
- 3+ years’ experience using social media platforms to drive company brand and communications
- Beauty, skincare, or cosmetics experience a must
- Strong ability to generate ideas and meet tight deadlines
- Ability to drive a consistent brand story across all touch points
- Ability to navigate and communicate across brand and external social media channels (including blogging & social networking)
- Agency Whisperer: Experience managing external PR agencies.
- Experience using various communications measurement approaches to measure impact and identify areas of opportunity/improvement
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Must possess strong strategic thinking, creative thinking, collaboration, and problem solving skills
- Results focused, with examples to prove it
- Organized and high attention to detail
- Ability to adjust on the fly and thrive in an ever-changing environment
- Entrepreneurial spirit and a willingness to be the brand
- Track record of influencing multiple stakeholders (internal & external)
