Director of Finance – Prestige Skincare Brand

Our client is a prestige skincare brand and we are helping them to identify a Director of Finance. He or she will be responsible for strategic planning of financial reports, performing ad-hoc reporting, and planning budgets to manage operations and resources. This is an entrepreneurial environment and the Director of Finance will partner very closely with the President of the brand.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic business partner to the President in the US and the head office
  • Perform monthly close (includes Journal Entries, Accruals, Inventory valuation, Depreciation) and analysis based on US GAAP (IFRS knowledge is important)
  • Preparation of reports to summarize and forecast company business activity (financial statements, P&L, Flash Reports, LE Forecast, Annual Budget)
  • Perform 6M Review and FY Audit with external auditors to ensure compliance with state, federal and international requirements and statutes
  • Advise on operational adjustments due to tax implications
  • Maintain AP/AR aging
  • Improve and maintain ERP integrity
  • Perform full order to cash process (from receipt to collection)
  • Prepare reports summarizing business activities and financial forecasting including weekly updates on cash flow and updates
  • Perform ad-hoc reporting (Retail Business Analysis, GM calculation analysis, ROI of freelancers, Car Reimbursement)
  • Record and track spending and invoicing activities for customers and vendors
  • Work closely with International Controlling to produce reports for internal company use (GM, Expense Analysis, LE Sales, Budgets)
  • Receive, record and authorize RAs
  • Provide value-added analysis
  • Work cross functionally with business unit owners to produce BU P&Ls monthly
  • Provide support and guidance on product GM % and GM sustainability to marketing and sales teams
  • Mentor, develop and evaluate the performance of the accounting staff
  • Develop and maintain relationships with banking, insurance and non-organizational accounting personnel to facilitate financial and business activities
  • Active role in operations, including forecasting, PO management, inventory on hand and managing resources
  • Responsible for company payroll, new employee setup, renewal analysis of medical and other benefits

Requirements:

  • QuickBooks Enterprise with inventory experience
  • Excellent Excel skills
  • Must work well cross functionally and with international colleagues
