Our client is an innovative PR and marketing communications agency with offices in London, New York and Tokyo. The agency works with fashion and lifestyle brands on a range of projects that include PR, advertising, digital, social media and more. The agency is currently seeking a PR Director to work on the Fashion and Lifestyle team. This is a new and key hire for the agency and this person will be responsible for managing a team of eight. This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to step outside of the box and work in a highly creative setting where ideation is truly at the forefront. He or she will work alongside the various cross functional teams and will have the opportunity to collaborate with the Creative Director on innovative initiatives.

Reporting to the Group Director, The PR Director will be responsible for building strong team and client leadership, development and planning of best in class PR strategies, and driving organic growth across all accounts. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong, established network of media and influencer contacts and work with an integrated approach across the agency. It’s crucial that he or she possess a creative mindset and be able to think beyond basic PR initiatives and tactics. Responsibilities:

  • Be the strategic lead on each account across both PR strategies and the general approach to the clients’ growth
  • Produce highly effective PR results in an efficient manor
  • Build client relations through instilling confidence in clients and demonstrating you add value to the relationship
  • Constantly look for opportunities for your clients
  • Proactively direct and manage accounts against budget
  • Ensure clear and accurate budgeting and forecasting
  • Ensure best in class output on all documents produced on the account (press releases, proposals etc.)
  • Ensure solid research and evaluation methods are in place against all activity
  • Lead, motivate and mentor members of the team, supporting them in their workload and delegating work appropriately
  • Act as a media expert and educate the team
  • Proactively involve other areas of the business and manage these relationships on order to add value to a PR campaign and ensure a media rich approach to all briefs
  • Manage relevant issues upwards and ensure senior members of the team are up to date on all client activity
  • Clearly manage your workload and ensure you manage any concerns with your Group Director effectively
  • Ensure all work is captured for case studies and credentials
  • Proactively monitor relevant industry media and be abreast of what is happening
  • Constantly demonstrate an advanced knowledge of the media, media landscapes and media segments
  • Constantly demonstrate an advanced knowledge of influencer and celebrity communities both to clients and within the team
  • Demonstrate a broad 360 understanding of the marketing environment

 

Requirements:

  • B.A. and a minimum of eight years of public relations experience
  • Agency experience preferred
  • Proven experience as a leader in communications with a focus on fashion and lifestyle
  • Creative thinking and idea generation is critical to the role
  • Ability to work within a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to create a positive impact on business through strong relationships, both internal and external
  • Confidence in suggesting calculated risks
  • Discreet, professional and well spoken, with excellent presentation skills
  • Well-organized, methodical and efficient, with initiative and drive
  • Ability and proven track record of securing meaningful media placements and PR campaigns
  • Ability to secure media attendance at events
  • Ability to deal with team issues such as performance issues and motivation
  • Ability to think in an integrated manner
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, Powerpoint (Keynote a plus)
