We are currently working with an independently owned design firm with offices in New York and London that offers a distinctive viewpoint and an open and collaborative culture. They are actively seeking a Design Director to join their team in New York City. The ideal candidate is a creative mastermind with an impressive packaging and CPG portfolio. The Design Director will be working directly beside the NYC Creative Director as his right hand person to create the vision for strategic branding solutions. You must possess the ability to be a team leader while cultivating business relationships and building the culture.
Responsibilities:
- Provide conceptual ideas and design leadership to produce creative brand excellence
- Develop innovative ways to visualize design concepts and execute design solutions for clients
- Provide inspiration to the design team and is consistently involved through all design phases
- Ensure that the creative output is consistent with the design objectives and brand strategy as communicated to the client
- Cultivate positive relationships with the clients and presents concepts in a clear and confident manner
- Acting as a creative leader, inspiring and guiding your creative team on each project
Requirements:
- 8-10 years of experience, with an emphasis on branding and CPG; must have a considerable amount of packaging work experience
- Must understand brand strategy and have the ability to speak to the design work and the inspiration behind it
- Exceptionally high standard of conceptual thinking, impressive design and typography skills are a must
- Must have exceptional writing, verbal and presentation skills
